Sculpting, designing, painting, print
making, Mindy Z. Colton has worked in all these disciplines, but in recent
years her passion is for sculpture.
Attending the Art Student’s League, High School of Music and Art and
Parson's School of Design in New York City, Ms. Colton finished her B.F.A.
degree from Washington University School of Fine Art in St. Louis, Mo. She
also studied in San Miguel de Allendé, Mexico and Loveland, CO. Her
life-long love of horses and involvement with the equestrian community
drives her passion to create equine art.
Her award-winning fine art, including paintings and sculpture, mixed media
and photography, have been exhibited in solo and group shows in museums
and galleries. She is listed in “Women Artist's of America II.”
The Grand Bohemian Gallery in Orlando and Artistic Hand in Oviedo exhibits
her works. She exhibited her sculptures at Harris House at the
Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, Mount Dora Center
for the Arts, Alliance for the Arts, Ft. Myers, FL, Ormond Memorial Museum
of Art & Gardens, Ormond Beach. FL.
She also was invited to exhibit her large outdoor sculptures at the Epcot
International Flower & Garden Festival Invitational Sculpture Exhibit
in 2005 and 2006
Mindy’s works have been exhibited in juried shows from New York to
Washington State. Her works were also featured in the Deland Museum of Art
“Equus: Celebrating the Art of the Horse” and the national juried
exhibit “Re-visioning” at the Maitland Art Center. In 2006 her
sculpture won the Award of Excellence in the Deland Museum of Art second
annual “Equus: Celebrating the Art of the Horse.”
